to Consider When Planning a Baby
lot of people don't realize how much is involved
with planning a new baby. When planning a baby,
there are many things to consider. You need to
think about the costs involved, how much time
the baby will take up out of your busy life and
several other things.
If both parents have a full time job, it's not
usually a problem to get time off. Many employers
will allow employees to have maternity leave and
then return to their job after a few months, so
that may not be an aspect that you need to worry
about. However, if you're self employed or run
your own business, it may be more difficult to
keep it going as well as looking after a baby.
You could always get babysitters or relatives
and family friends to help you out, but it's best
to make sure that there are people that would
be willing to help you, before taking for granted
that you'll get the assistance you need.
Although you may want a baby, don't rush into
it and end up having to sacrifice a business that
you've spent years building up. It is arguably
worse if the mother is the one who is self employed;
if the father is the one running the business,
it is usually much easier to work around the baby.
The costs involved in looking after a baby are
almost endless, and even the small things mount
up eventually. Larger things such as baby
changing stations, prams and car seats are
the main items on your list, but then there are
nappies, baby clothes and bottles to think about
as well. You also need to make sure that you have
enough space in your home to fit the baby's cot,
any baby changing stations and trolleys that you
have purchased, as well as a set of drawers to
keep all the baby clothes.
